Travel photographer Jerry Kopff's work promotes ecotravel and ecotourism in many third world countries and other exotic locations. He has been a professional photographer for 60 years and his assignments have taken him to all seven continents in pursuit of stock images as well as many parts of the United States. He depicts the sights and almost the sounds in his work by creating memories, setting moods, emotions, telling a story, creating design patterns with a more gentile atmosphere. Some people take pictures. Jerry Kopff tells stories. Many subjects are of indigenous people, children, candid, floral, seascapes, sunrises, sunsets, architecture and landscapes. He's been in the jungles of the South Pacific with a tribe of people who have practiced cannibalism and has traveled to many World War 11 locals photographing its history and showing a more peaceful side today. One of the most interesting and favorite locations that Jerry photographed was Antarctica. Jerry has been involved in photography ever since he had his first camera, a Brownie box camera. He served in the U. S. Navy as a photographer and was the lead cruise book photographer during his second tour aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk CVA 63 during 1963-1964. This cruise book was later published and is now in the John F. Kennedy Library. He also photographed President John F. Kennedy in 1963. In 1994, Jerry was awarded the 1st Place Communications Excellence Award, in photojournalism, as the nation's top Red Cross photographer. Here, he was honored by Elizabeth Dole, for photographing the 1993 brush fires in Southern California for the American Red Cross. He won an award for an international photo on Ko Samui, Thailand, and sold a JFK photo at a New York auction. Jerry is a member of the National Press Photographers Association, Life Member of National Association of Naval Photography, and the Pacific Asia Travel Association. He has also been asked to lecture to art and photography organizations and has also done photography consultation.
